One way of getting your letter noticed above all the others, or just generally, is to make the envelope stand out.

There are a variety of ways of doing this: you could, for instance, write the address in an unusual colour, or use a different colour envelope: pink, purple, yellow, blue: just so it stands out against the usual white and manilla coloured envelopes.

You could try using unusual stamps, or you could simply decorate the front of the envelope in some way: the limit is your imagination.

I have heard of people putting little stickers of smiley faces, or making it more relevant to the people they are sending too; for instance including stickers of people playing tennis if writing to Andre Agassi.

Sometimes, letters are left for ages and ages and not opened, so you could write a little message on the back of the envelope which ca be read as soon as the mail arrives, and if it induces curiosity, your letter could be opened, and replied to, much quicker than 'normal'!

What you decide to write, if you do, is completely up to you, though if you do this, make it short, snappy and to the point: just one or two lines.
