Birdwatching: How To Learn Species

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
One of the key things that any serious birdwatcher needs, is the ability to recognise species quickly.

Over time, you will naturally build up a great knowledge of the little intricacies and quirks from one species to another, but whilst learning there are things you can do to help yourself greatly.

Many birds are only to be found in one area of a country and not in another. By doing your research you won't have to distinguish between ten members of a bird species because only one or two are known to be seen in each area.
