Birdwatching Tips: Binoculars

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
A birdwatcher is only as good as his equipment!

When there is a small body silhouetted against a distant tree, then no amount of knowledge alone will let you know for sure what it is.

That's where the binoculars come in handy. Try to spend a little more than you might normally, because they will be essential to your hobby, your enjoyment of it and success.

They are not too expensive these days for a basic model, but it is worth paying a bit more for features like image stabilisation.

If you really want all the features, you can get ones that allow low light viewing and even anti fogging and other features. Some even have a digital camera built in to enable you to photograph the bird in shot!
