How To Learn About Your Camera

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
Many photographers make the mistake of jumping straight into the deep end with a camera - they will buy a new camera and expect instant results.

But you need to get to know your camera, and all its quirks. Typically many cameras perform better in some circumstances than other cameras, but equally perform less well in others.

Therefore you need to learn about your camera, just like you learn how to use a computer the first time that you get one.

So, the best way to learn is with some test shots. Take shots at a variety of light levels, and distances, and explore all aspects of the camera and the lens.

When the results come back, find out what worked well and what worked not so well. If something seems very wrong, ensure you read the instructions manual and that you are using the functionality correctly.

Bottom line: by spending some time to get to know your camera you will know how to get the response you want when that shot you simply must get comes along
