How To Get Good Ideas

If you love books and really want to write your own novel one day, then you have come to the write place.
For a story you always need good ideas.
If you can think of anything then when ever you're out always bring a note book and pen with you, when you see something, smell or hear something that you could put in your book write it down. E.g.
If i was on the bus and i saw a huge building i could write:
I sat on the bus waiting for my stop, until the floor started shaking, i was terrified, i looked up, and there it was, standing infront of me, Big Ben, it came alive, it had two legs and arms like a real person, Was this some sort of alien invasion?
See how i have created a story just by being on a bus and passing big ben?
