How To Get Into A Share Fund With Low Costs

The problem with most managed funds is that there are hefty fees levied for the fund management. This is the fee of the man or woman who buys and sells the shares in the fund over time, using their years of knowledge and experience to predict what is doing well, what is not doing well, what would do better and what will do worse.
The problem of course is that many people think, perhaps rightly, there is no need to have this as no one can predict the market, if they could then we'd all be at it making millions.
Therefore opt for a tracker fund, which literally tracks the FTSE. Because they are simpler in operation most of these have much lower fees as they are effectively run by computers monitoring and responding to set patterns and factors, therefore minimal human involvement is required in these funds.
