If you get bored at university, then the last thing you should do is stay in your room and watch TV or read a magazine.

It is a great opportunity to get out and about and meet other people and experience new things which is sadly often something only appreciate when they have left.

There should be millions of clubs and societies at your university so why not do some research, find a few that are of interest to you and go along.

Most societies are very open and welcome new members to their interests so it is a great way to get a new set of friends, perhaps even new skills, and have more fun.

It really is part of the university experience to get to know and learn new skills through these societies and clubs and they can also look good on the CV at the practical level when it comes to finding a job in the real world (shock, horror).

So next time you are bored, switch off This Morning or Countdown and go and look into a club or society of interest to join at the university - you'll be glad that you did!
